Democratising Data Skills: Building a Data-Driven Culture

Overview
The key theme will be around the common challenges businesses face when it comes to achieving widespread data literacy and democratisation, and how organisations can alleviate those issues by effectively upskilling their workforce in data-related skills through data apprenticeships. This includes tackling issues like varying levels of existing skills, resistance to change, lack of clear data strategies, and the need for ongoing support and development.
By showcasing real-world examples and success stories, the session will highlight the benefits of investing in data apprenticeships to bridge the data skills gap, empower employees to make data-driven decisions, and foster a data-centric culture. Attendees will gain valuable insights into how to leverage data apprenticeships to drive innovation, improve operational efficiency, and gain a competitive edge in the data-driven economy.
The format will be a panel discussion including a Baltic host, a Baltic data specialist, and a guest Speaker and apprentice from Baltic's Employer Partner Network (TBC). The delivery:
Baltic Host - Why are data skills and training are becoming increasingly important in today’s working world?
Baltic Data Specialist - What challenges do organisations experience when faced with a lack of data literacy and democratisation? How will investing in data upskilling benefit them?
Host – Summary on how data apprenticeship works.
Guest Speaker - Why did they originally decide to invest in data upskilling? How successful has this been and what benefits have they seen as a result?
Apprentice: How has the apprenticeship experience been? What learned skills have they applied in the workplace?
