Game Changing Technologies: HealthTech emerging trends

Overview
The Department of Health and Social Care, NHS and NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) have identified priority areas suitable for proactive horizon scanning.
These are technologies with the potential to be game-changing: quantum technologies, bioengineering, wearables and artificial intelligence. While the innovative nature of these technologies can pose challenges to downstream decision-making, proactive horizon scanning can assist in identifying these technologies as well as their distinctive characteristics to help support the decision-making process and system readiness.
In this session we will hear from Pauline Addis and Kate Lanyi about the particular game changing technologies they are researching. They will highlight the benefits they offer as well as any challenges they may throw up.
We will then hear from Patience Kunoga about the considerations of ealth Inequality and Inequity when it comes to these game-changing technologies and what we need to do as a collective to combat.
The group will come together for a relaxed panel discussion and audience questions.
